Aloha Friday is Coming to Menlo Park
Special Promotion Kicks-Off Menlo Summerfest
To kick-off the Menlo Summerfest coming up July 15-16 on Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park, organizers are planning an “Aloha Friday" promotion for Friday, July 14, a play off the festival’s "Tropical Vibrations” theme.
“The festival is all about conveying a happy, festive, summery vibe,” said Fran Dehn, President/CEO of the sponsoring Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. “We thought something fun like our “Aloha Friday” promotion would be a perfect way to involve the entire community – downtown merchants as well businesses, adults and kids alike throughout Menlo Park – and get everybody in the community 'in the spirit' for festival weekend."
Some of the local merchants featuring summery, Aloha-style wear include Afterwards, The Discovery Shop, Kick’s, Dolma and Goodwill. “They’re some of the local businesses that offer an array of new and vintage items with a tropical, summery slant and would great places to find your own unique Aloha-style look for Summerfest,” Fran said. “We'd love to see all of the restaurants, cafes, shops and all of the businesses around town embrace and tap into our Aloha Friday theme.”
Organizers will be encouraging event volunteers, vendors, artists and musicians to don Aloha-style shirts and togs for festival weekend and are hoping festivalgoers may get in the spirit too. “It’d be a total kick and a real sight to behold, having the entire community decked out in Aloha garb on Friday around town and definitely at the festival too,” said Steve Bajor, President of Team Pro Event, one of the festival organizers and creative visionary behind the Aloha Friday promotion.
